GUE
DIVER PROPULSION VEHICLE DIVER 1

Why take this course?

Being a diver means exploring new underwater territories, and with an underwater scooter (Diver Propulsion Vehicle - DPV) the exploration range can expand even further. Riding a scooter is not only fun, but it also allows divers to cover more distance with less effort, even carrying extra gear.

GUE’s DPV Level 1 course is designed to introduce divers to the skills and knowledge required to safely use Underwater Propulsion Vehicles (DPV) in open water environments.

Course outcomes include, but are not limited to: basic principles of DPV diving, dive planning, teamwork while using a DPV, environmental and conservation awareness, stress management, navigation, standard and emergency procedures, DPV maintenance and troubleshooting, and the potential hazards of diving with a DPV.

Course Equipment

All major pieces of equipment are included in the course cost, including DPV, regulators, backplate and wing, rigid single-bladed fins, tanks and weights.

Candidates are expected to own or purchase their own mask and backup mask, surface marker buoy, spool and wetnotes.

As a GUE Student you unlock a 15% discount off most equipment items in-store!

Course duration

The GUE DPV Diver 1 Course is conducted over a 3 day period. It requires a minimum of 5 dives and at least 24 hours instruction including theory, land drills and in-water work. The course can run over 3 consecutive days (eg for divers visiting Sydney) or built around a schedule that works for candidates.
