The course covers self-rescue skills, accident prevention & management and real-life scenarios. There is no denying the PADI Rescue Dive Course is challenging – but is also a lot of fun!

Course Details

The PADI Rescue Diver Course develops the knowledge and skills to handle panicked or unresponsive divers, use emergency equipment such as surface marker buoys, provide effective first aid in a dive emergency, andconduct search patterns for missing divers using compass navigation. You will also learn to manage dive accident situations, including surfacing an unconscious diver and rescue breathing.

The course includes your PADI eLearning, confined water training, shore dives,transportation (if required)and your PADI Rescue Diver Certification.

After successful completion of your training dives you will become a certified PADI Rescue Diver!

Day 1 - Rescue Exercises

8am to 5pm. Course Introduction at Dive Centre Bondi. Confined water training covering basic rescue techniques and learning to identify potential problems.

Day 2 - Rescue Scenarios

8am to 5pm (times are approximate). Open water training to develop rescue skills and conduct real-life scenarios including rescuing panicked and unresponsive divers and managing emergency situations.

Equipment

All equipment is included in the course cost with the exception of mask, snorkel, boots, fins and safety equipment. Safety equipment includes a surface marker buoy (SMB) & spool, and a cutting tool or dive knife. These are personal items and for comfort, hygiene and safety reasons we find students prefer to have their own. Our professional staff can help you to find equipment that fits properly and suits your requirements. Alternatively, all of these items can be rented for $50 for the whole course ($25 for mask, snorkel, boots & fins, $25 for knife, SMB & spool). Prerequisites

  • The minimum age to participate is 15 years old (a parent's or guardian's consent is required for participants under 18 years old.)
  • Be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, or hold an equivalent certification from another recognised certification agency.
  • Have completed a First Aid Course with CPR in the last 24 months with a recognised authority.
  • You must be cleared as medically fit to dive by completing a Medical Statement prior to your course starting. If any questions are flagged as "Yes" you need to gain medical clearance from a doctor. Please ensure you complete this Medical Statement before the start of your course.
