The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course consists of five adventure dives in Sydney. Including peak performance buoyancy, navigation and a deep dive (to maximum of 30 metres) plus two more adventure dives: DSMB and an introduction to Rescue skills. The course includes your PADI eLearning, five shore dives, transportation (if required) and your PADI Advanced Open Water Certification. You'll also get the chance to dive some of our best local sites, where you might encounter the magnificent Grey Nurse Shark! It's a truly unforgettable experience, but sightings depend on conditions and a bit of luck.
After successful completion of your training dives you will become a certified PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and be able to dive to a maximum of 30 metres!

8am to 5pm. Course Introduction at Dive Centre Bondi. Three shore dives at one of our sheltered dive sites covering the Navigation, Peak Performance Buoyancy and Intro to Rescue dive.
Times are approximate. We complete two deeper dives up to 30m. Your final dives will be determined by the conditions, but we typically choose between Bushrangers Bay and a deeper site in Sydney.
All equipment is included in the course cost with the exception of mask, snorkel, boots, fins and safety equipment. Safety equipment includes a surface marker buoy (SMB) & spool, and a cutting tool or dive knife. These are personal items and for comfort, hygiene and safety reasons we find students prefer to have their own. Our professional staff can help you to find equipment that fits properly and suits your requirements. Alternatively, all of these items can be rented for $50 for the whole course ($25 for mask, snorkel, boots & fins, $25 for knife, SMB & spool). As a Dive Centre Bondi Student you unlock a 10% discount off everything in store!
The course runs for 2 days, focusing on adventure dives such as deep diving, navigation, and peak performance buoyancy around Sydney’s beautiful sites. You will have to complete a total of 5 Adventure Dives before earning the Advanced Open Water certification.
You’ll improve your buoyancy, navigation, SMB deployment and confidence in deeper waters. This course is perfect for divers looking to expand their diving skills. Additionally, it opens up about 80% of all the dive sites worldwide.
After completing the course, you’ll receive the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification, allowing you to dive to 30 metres worldwide.
Yes, you can! However, we recommend doing some dives in between your Open Water Course and the start of the AOW. Although many divers continue straight into Advanced to build skills and confidence while the Open Water knowledge is fresh.
Yes, you can! We highly recommend combining your Advanced Open Water with the Enriched Air Diver (Nitrox) course. By using nitrox cylinders, you'll get longer, safer bottom times and walk away with two valuable certifications at the end of the weekend.
